VanBrakle struck out nine and walked one.
The Brakettes earlier had threatened in the second when, with two out, a single by VanBrakle and a double by Callie Piper put runners on second and third, but the Brakettes failed to score.
Teri Rooney doubled to left center in the third, but was left stranded.
The Storm had several scoring opportunities but were unable to break through against VanBrakle. They had two hits in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Doyle struck out six and walked two in defeat.

Teri Rooney followed with a single up the middle driving in Green with what turned out to be the game's only run.
Stephanie Best made a nice diving backhand of a ball hit by Ricki Walker in the top of the second, and threw from her knees to get the out. First baseman Walker had two of Storm USA's three hits, including a two out double in the seventh. Green's eleventh strikeout ended the game.
